The room allocation board (BA) determines which room is reserved for which resident on the room assignment form.
Hallways can make an occupancy request ("Belegungswunsch") for newcomers.

What is the benefit of an occupancy request?
By submitting an occupancy request, residents of a hallway notify the room allocation board (BA) that they would like a new resident to move into their hallway. The occupancy request should be placed in the pink BA mailbox entrance area of Building K1 three days prior to room distribution. Room distribution can take place no earlier than six days after the admission interview (re-registration deadline). The HeimGO defines distribution rules for BA room distribution. These distribution rules take precedence over occupancy requests.
Hallway occupancy requests must be signed by at least half of the active club members of the hallway (Belegungsordnung, § 9, Punkt 2).
Every request for occupancy should be clarified with the newcomer so that he/she also specifies the corridor as a request. Occupancy requests will not be fulfilled if it is against the will of the newcomer.
