That's what we are

The room allocation board (Belegungsausschuss, short: BA) is responsible for the occupancy of the rooms and selection of the applicants. The work of the BA is one of the most responsible tasks in the self-administration of HaDiKo, because the whole self-administration stands and falls with the residents. In order to ensure a balanced distribution of all residents in terms of their nationalities and fields of study, there is a whole series of quotas and regulations that the BA has to adhere to. Therefore, it is unfortunately not always possible to consider all hallway or applicant requests, but we always try to find a good solution. In addition to the admission process, the BA is also responsible for relocations as well as resident terminations.

The application process

Applications for a room at HaDiKo must be submitted via our applicant portal no later than 15. one and a half months before moving in. If there are significantly more applicants than rooms, then a pre-selection takes place, so that a maximum of 5 applicants per free room are invited to the admission interview (Aufnahmegespräch, short: AG). This usually takes place on the first Saturday of the month before the desired move-in month. Applications that are received very early will be considered for the interview two months before moving in. All hallways that have a free room are invited to the AG, so that they can get to know applicants and perhaps find their new roommate. So if there is a room available in your hallway, you will receive an email in time with all the info. The AG starts with group talks, where we want to get to know the applicants and the applicants get to know us. Afterwards, the hallway representatives will guide the applicants through their hallway while the BA decides on acceptance and rejection. If you find an applicant for your corridor on the AG (or before), you can make an occupancy request. This request will be taken into account during the room allocation, which will take place about 10 days after the AG. With the room distribution the application process is finished, the newcomers get their room numbers and the beginning of the month can come ;) In addition to the long-term rooms, there is also a room on each hallway that is occupied by an exchange student each semester. Furthermore, empty rooms can be given to short-term tenants on a monthly basis.

Someone else is responsible for this

How do I participate?

It's great that you are interested in our work. You are welcome to help out as a helper at an admission interview. There you can slip into the role of a BAler and take part in the decisions of who can move in. Just contact ba@hadiko.de and we will contact you with more information. In addition, there are always information events of the BA. The residents of HaDiKo will be informed about these events by e-mail. We are happy about all interested people.

The election of the BAler takes place every half year with many other offices. For this purpose, election lists are hung up in all houses on which everyone can sign up.
